– Goodnews Energy (https://goodnews.energy), a company specializing in energy transition services, announced today that it has signed a MOU with the Korea Solar Construction Association and Hyundai E&C to promote the adoption of renewable energy and activate the private-led power purchase agreement (PPA) market.

This agreement aims to secure stable power sales opportunities for solar power producers and to establish a collaborative framework to invigorate the PPA market through a digital platform. Each party will leverage its expertise and capabilities to improve the distribution structure of renewable energy and enhance transparency and accessibility in the market.

Under the agreement, Goodnews Energy will be responsible for providing a digital platform to support PPA participants. The platform will offer features such as ▲ simplified registration and contract documentation, ▲ real-time power generation monitoring and automated data processing, and ▲ data visualization and management tools. These capabilities are expected to significantly improve convenience and operational efficiency for participating producers. Minyoung Song, Director at Goodnews Energy, stated, “This agreement goes beyond a typical contract—it marks a pivotal step in digitizing the renewable energy trading ecosystem. We will continue to build an accessible energy market where small and mid-sized producers and energy consumers can connect more easily through innovative platform technology.”

The Korea Solar Construction Association will recruit over 100 MW worth of solar power producers under this agreement and will oversee onboarding support, standardized contract assistance, and customer service. Depending on market demand, the capacity target will be expanded in phases. Chairman Youngjoo Kwak of the Korea Solar Construction Association said, “This agreement is a major milestone in expanding market access for solar power producers. We will actively engage our members and provide full support at the association level.”

Hyundai E&C will take the lead in identifying demand sources and executing contracts, while also handling financial coordination. Donghoon Lee, Executive Director of Development Projects at Hyundai E&C, noted, “Expanding PPA contracts is critical to meeting corporate renewable energy demands and advancing ESG strategies. Through this partnership, we look forward to accelerating the growth of a private-sector-led PPA ecosystem.”

The three parties will continue to collaborate on policy response, market trend sharing, regulatory improvement, and financial product development to foster a sustainable renewable energy market and expand the PPA ecosystem in Korea.
