Meteorological and Atmospheric Science Expert (Development of Predictive Models and Algorithms)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro) generation forecasting technologies using numerical weather prediction (NWP) models and satellite meteorological data.
- Develop meteorological services for major domestic and international corporations, public enterprises, and government agencies.
- Participate in the architecture design and system configuration for large-scale services at the national and continental level.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (eligible for Korea’s Alternative Military Service Program as Specialized Research Personnel)
- Have experience working with numerical weather prediction models (e.g., ECMWF, LDAPS, GFS, KIM, WRF) and satellite data (e.g., COMS, Himawari)
- Model and algorithm development by first establishing performance evaluation criteria before proceeding with implementation
- Follow a scientific workflow (observation → hypothesis → experiment) and can structure communication and updates accordingly
- Self-motivated and continuously pursue learning across multiple disciplines.
- Empathize with our mission of "solving societal problems" through technology and services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in meteorological operations in the AirForce
- Public R&D experience in organizations such as the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), National Meteorological Satellite Center, or Numerical Modeling Centers
- Data analysis experience using Python
- Interest in the climate tech sector (energy, environment, etc.)
- Experience in founding or working as an early member of a startup
