August 21, 2025

“Concert Venue Reduces Carbon Emissions through Renewable Energy Subscription, Leading ESG Management in Culture and the Arts”

Seoul, August 21, 2025 – Goodnews Energy (CEO Jong-gyu Kim, https://goodnews.energy), an energy transition service provider, announced on the 21st that it has signed an agreement with Pondmakers Inc. (CEO Irae Park, https://www.pondmakers.com) to introduce renewable energy subscription and carbon reduction practices at “Soopsekwon Live,” a concert venue located in Mullae-dong, Seoul.

This agreement carries significant meaning as a new partnership that enables the practical implementation of carbon neutrality in the cultural and arts sector by adopting Goodnews Energy’s renewable energy subscription service at “Soopsekwon Live,” operated by Pondmakers.

Goodnews Energy is a subsidiary of 60Hertz, an energy IT social venture, and a renewable energy distribution startup with proven expertise, having procured over 47 GWh of renewable energy to date. The company supports major corporations such as Samsung Electronics, Kakao, NH Investment & Securities, and Hyundai Mobis in their renewable energy transition and RE100 goals. It also offers a “renewable energy subscription service for SMEs and small businesses,” enabling wider adoption of clean energy even among organizations with relatively low electricity consumption.

“Soopsekwon Live” is an eco-friendly music content platform operating under the concept of “a forest that delivers small echoes within the city.” Inspired by a natural forest filled with trees and flowers, the venue has produced high-quality music content, with more than 200 artist teams having participated as of August 2025. In addition, a portion of its content revenue is donated to “Forest for Life,” furthering its mission to promote environmental protection and social value.

Through this agreement, Goodnews Energy is expanding its eco-friendly marketing partnerships in the cultural and arts sector, contributing to the popularization and wider adoption of renewable energy. “Soopsekwon Live” is expected to set a benchmark for ESG management in the cultural industry by converting its concert hall operations to renewable energy and reducing its carbon footprint.

Pondmakers CEO Irae Park stated, “This is a meaningful partnership that aligns with the identity of Soopsekwon Live, where music and nature harmonize. We will continue to play a leading role in taking environmental responsibility within the cultural content industry.”

Goodnews Energy Director Min-young Song added, “Building on the expertise accumulated by 60Hertz and Goodnews Energy, we aim to become the optimal partner that enables more companies to easily adopt renewable energy. We hope this collaboration will serve as a new starting point for expanding renewable energy adoption in the cultural and arts sector.”

This agreement represents a meaningful case of cross-industry collaboration, where different areas of expertise converge under the shared goal of creating social value in the era of carbon neutrality. In particular, the partnership between culture and climate technology presents a new form of communication that delivers an eco-friendly message to younger generations, marking an important turning point.
