60Hertz
Full-Stack Engineer
Key Responsibilities
About the Team
The GridFlex team at SixtyHertz develops intelligent energy control technologies—including Virtual Power Plants (VPP), Demand Response (DR), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) integration—built on renewable energy resources.
With a mission to address the climate crisis, we transform vast energy datasets and complex business logic into clear, intuitive, and scalable services.
We are seeking a senior full-stack engineer who will take ownership across the full product stack—from backend architectures that manage large-scale plant telemetry and energy forecasting processes, to visualization interfaces that help customers operate systems with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End product development: Lead development across the entire stack to deliver energy products quickly and reliably for domestic customers.
Dashboard & data visualization: Build and enhance renewable energy management dashboards, efficiently rendering and visualizing large-scale time-series data.
System design: Analyze customer needs and design database structures that support real-world implementation.
Technical leadership: Establish engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and strengthen development practices as a senior member of the team.
Qualifications
Senior engineering capability: Practical experience solving problems across system boundaries with a holistic understanding of architecture—not constrained by role labels.
Frontend expertise: Hands-on production experience with TypeScript and React, and proficiency in state management frameworks.
Backend proficiency: Experience developing backend systems using Java and Spring Boot, including data handling through JPA or equivalent technologies.
Data & infrastructure understanding: Experience with RDBMS schema design and familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
AI-assisted development: Comfortable leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate output and explore new problem areas.
Pragmatic mindset: Thrives on using technology as a tool to solve complex, real-world challenges efficiently.
Domain interest: Passion for climate tech (energy, environment, decarbonization) and commitment to creating social value through technology.
Communication & learning: Asks “why?”, collaborates logically with peers, and does not hesitate to learn unfamiliar domain concepts.
Visualization experience: Hands-on experience with map-based libraries or charting/visualization tools.
