Data Scientist - Specialist Research Personnel

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze numerical weather prediction (NWP), ground-based observation, and satellite meteorological data in connection with renewable energy.

- Conduct simulations using numerical weather models such as WRF.

- Develop renewable energy generation forecasting technologies utilizing numerical weather models and satellite data.

- Integrate generation forecasting technologies into service platforms.

Qualifications

- Eligible for Korea’s Alternative Military Service Program (Specialized Research Personnel) with a master’s degree or higher in a relevant field

- Have experience researching and summarizing the latest studies in meteorology, energy, or data science

- Statistical analysis or data mining using Python to extract insights and compile reports

- Understand principles for writing flexible and maintainable software that can adapt to evolving business requirements.

- Can write efficient Python code with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and the unique characteristics of Python compared to languages like C/C++

- Continuous learning mindset, constantly seeking to develop new technical skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Energy Engineering, or a related field

- Experience working on projects involving satellite meteorological data
