Backend Engineer (Java)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and operate one of the largest energy big data services in Korea (＞100,000 power plants, ＞50 types of IoT devices) using Java and Spring
- Design and optimize databases (Oracle) for national-scale energy big data management
- Manage and operate cloud-based and on-premises services for major Korean conglomerates, public enterprises, and government agencies (DevOps)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of backend development experience or equivalent capabilities
- Proficient with Java Spring, Oracle, MyBatis, JPA, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Kafka
- Focus on solving real-world problems pragmatically without being tied to specific technologies or environments
- Can technically define problems and calculate solution costs (e.g., space & time complexity)
- Believe that customer feedback is essential for delivering high-quality software and services and are eager to actively engage with it
- Have no hesitation—and ideally, pride—in meeting and exceeding the technical and management standards (security, documentation, etc.) demanded by enterprises, government agencies, and public institutions
- Self-motivated and continuously pursue learning across various domains
- Empathize with our core mission of solving societal problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in climate tech (energy, environment, etc.)
- Strong passion for addressing social challenges
- Experience in founding a startup or working as an early member of a startup team
