Backend Engineer (Java)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and operate domestic and international renewable energy trading services (Java)
- Build scalable and flexible systems to easily accommodate the diverse requirements of demand-side companies, power generators, and suppliers
- Design and optimize databases for managing and tracking renewable energy certificates (RECs) by hour and by country
- Create systems to reliably issue, manage, and track hourly RECs generated by domestic and international power plants
- Manage infrastructure, monitor system performance, and respond to incidents
- Continuously analyze system performance, optimize for stability, and ensure reliable service operations through proactive monitoring and rapid incident response
Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend development experience or equivalent capabilities
- Have experience with Java, Kotlin, Spring, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions
- Focus on solving real-world problems pragmatically, without being constrained by specific technologies or environments
- Can technically define problems and estimate solution costs (e.g., space & time complexity)
- Believe that customer feedback is essential to building complete, high-quality software and actively seek it out
- Understand and value the importance of meeting technical and management standards (e.g., security, documentation) required by large enterprises, public institutions, and government agencies
- Self-motivated and continuously seek to learn and grow across different fields
- Align with our mission of "solving societal problems" through technology and innovation
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interest in the climate tech sector (energy, environment, etc.).
- Passion for addressing societal challenges.
- Experience founding a startup or working as an early-stage startup team member.
